Q. Do I need to have previous experience with firearms?

A. No. It is not necessary to have any previous experience with firearms. In fact, it is frequently easier to learn gun safety without any background experience that could create a bias.

Q. Do I need to own a gun before taking a course?

A. Not always. But since you will be learning handling and shooting skills it makes the most sense to use the same gun that you will be primarily using.

Q. Which gun is best for me?

A. This is a tough question to answer. The answer really depends upon your intended use of your gun, your comfort level with shooting, the size of your hands, your physical strength and several other factors. Feel free to contact us and we can help you identify a few options.

Q. What should I bring to class?

A. At a minimum plan on bringing a 2" 3 ring binder, a notepad, pen and/or pen for notetaking. If the course of instruction includes shooting a firearm the equipment required will be specified and will frequently include: eye protection, hearing protection, gun, ammo (# of rounds will vary and will be specified) and a GOOD ATTITUDE.

Q. How long are the courses?

A. Because it is more important to assure that all course information has been shared and objectives completed the duration can vary. Other factors include the amount of shooting, range congestion, and even the composition of the students. Generally most courses will run about 8-10 hours. The specifgic time will be defined at the time of class registration.

Q. Which course(s) should I take?
